How to leave Wix without losing your domain or email
Short answer: you do not have to cancel first, and you do not have to move your domain. Build the replacement, point your www address to it, leave your email records alone, then cancel the Wix premium plan.
Why you rebuild instead of export
Wix says its sites must run on Wix's servers and cannot be hosted elsewhere. Your words, photos, and business details are still yours; the working site is what stays behind. Wix help center
Web Home Studios reads what is public on your current Wix site and rebuilds it for you to review. Sites that load most of their text with scripts may bring over less, so you check and fill in anything missing before going live.

Keep your Wix site running for now
Do not cancel first. Your current site stays live while you prepare the replacement, so customers never hit a blank page.
Build the replacement privately
Enter your current address on the Web Home Studios move page. It reads your public pages, services, and contact details and builds a private draft you can edit in plain words. Nothing on the live site changes.
Keep your domain where it is
Wix's help center explains that a domain bought from Wix can connect to a site hosted on another platform. You change the record for the www address. You do not have to transfer the domain. Source
Leave your email records alone
Business email runs on separate records (called MX records). The switch only changes the website record, so your inbox keeps working.
Check the new site on your own address
Open your www address and confirm the new site, your phone number, and your contact form work. The builder connects the www address; to make the address without www work too, turn on domain forwarding to https://www.yourbusiness.com where your domain is registered. Only then move on.
Cancel the Wix premium plan
Pointing your domain does not cancel your Wix plan, so cancel the premium plan yourself once the new site is live. If your domain is registered with Wix, keep that registration; it renews separately, usually yearly.
One Wix-specific note
Wix does not let you change the name servers of a domain bought from Wix. You do not need to: the switch only edits the website record, and your email records stay as they are. Wix help center

Wix’s prices vary by region, so we link to its own plans page instead of quoting one. Covered hosting is for ordinary business websites, including the built-in menus, shops, bookings and order requests. Large stores with inventory systems, memberships and custom apps may need another solution.
